The Ram cross-country teams placed second in the girls team race and third in the boys team race at the Saydel Invitational Thursday. Five girls and four boys earned medals with top 20 finishes and every runner but one ran better than his or her average time.
Sophomore Olivia Hansen paced the girls with a time of 17:15.1, putting her in fourth place. Other medalists were seniors Emily Christensen in ninth place at 17:54.1, Eme Johnson in 10th place at 17:54.5, and Noelle Gray in 14th place at 18:30.4. Freshman Emily Finch medaled in 11th place in 17:59.3.
Senior Jolee Wessling finished in 24th place at 19:32.6 and junior Cassidy Adamson placed 35th in 20:24.9. Winning time for the 4K race was 16:25.37 set by Colfax-Mingo sophomore Dakota Hostetter.
Girls team scores were North Polk 41, Greene County 48, Colfax-Mingo 71, PCM 72, and Saydel 126.
Senior Landon Braun led with Ram boys with a ninth place finish in a time of 19:04.9 for the 5K race. Other Ram medalists were senior Logan Egeland, 11th place in 19:12.1, and juniors Anthony Cunningham, 18th place in 20:27.7 and Ethan Woodruff, 20th place in 20:36.2.
Senior Abe Yoder finished in 22nd place in 20:45.3. Winning time in the boys race was senior Casey Roberts of Saydel’s time of 17:30.35.
Boys team scores were Saydel 23, North Polk 35, Greene County 78, Colfax-Mingo 120, and PCM 127.
